Music Production: How To Make a Noise by Simon Cann
The free version of: "How to Make a Noise" by Simon Cann was just added to the Producers Training Lab. I read through it a few years ago and it's a great book to help you get started in electronic music production. He utilizes Z3TA+, Cameleon 5000, Rhino 2, Wusikstation, Surge, and Vanguard in his training regime but if you do not own these synths, there is still a great deal you can learn and some of the demos for these synths are available on the web. It will teach you how to use a variety of synthesizers and in the end, make your own sound patches. If you found it useful, I encourage you to get the published version. Also, he has many other books release now on various aspects of synthesis.
