Binaural Beats = Synchronize Brainwaves & Alter Consciousness | Dubspot Blog
There a few videos on Youtube with various binaural beats. If you have a headache, give this a listen:
Create your own binaural beats with an open source binaural-beat generator called, "Gnaural" if you don't have something like absynth which allows you to assign a frequency to separate stereo fields.
Each tone in the left and right field must be no more than 1000hz and the difference between the two tones must be less than 30hz. Brainwaves are capable of resonating below 1Hz but frequencies only become audible for us at around 20Hz so don't go below this frequency. Pan one frequency all the way to the right and another to the left that is different from the first. The difference between the two frequencies is what your brain will resonate at. For example, if the left field is resonating at 100Hz and the right is at 107Hz, the binaural beat that your brain resonates at will be 7Hz. If 133Hz was assigned to the right instead of 107Hz, it would not work because the binaural beat would not be less than 30Hz.
Now choose the mood you wish to invoke upon the listener. These are the four categories of brainwave patterns which explain what each binaural frequency range does according to Centerpointe's research (They provide a free sample CD if you're interested):
"Beta (14-30 Hz) : Concentration, arousal, alertness, cognition. Higher levels associated with anxiety, unease, feelings of separation, fight or flight.
Alpha (8-13.9 Hz) : Relaxation, superlearning, relaxed focus, light trance, increased serontonin production. Pre-sleep, pre-waking drowsiness, meditation, beginning of access to unconscious mind.
Theta (4-7.9 Hz) : Dreaming sleep (REM sleep). Increased production of catecholamines (vital for learning and memory), increased creativity. Integrative, emotional experiences, potential change in behavior, increased retention of learned material. Hypnagogic imagery, trance, deep meditation, access to unconscious mind. Delta (0.1-3.9 Hz) : Dreamless sleep. Human growth hormone released. Deep, trance-like, non-physical state, loss of body awareness. Access to unconscious and "collective unconscious" mind, greatest "push" to brain when induced with Holosync®"
Here is also a freeware program you can experiment with called SBaGen for Windows, OSX, and Linux. |
